SARAH, THE GAME CHANGER

I saw the movie Game Change today.  Now I understand why Sarah Palin denounced the movie.  Game Change depicts spot on the events that lead to her metamorphosis into a cocky, over-confident candidate whose stunts were embarrassing and unprecented in any presidential campaign in history.  She sees herself as the star of the GOP.  I see her as yet another party leader who wants to work to turn back the hand of time in this country.  Well, Sarah, old girl, that ain't happenin'.  Not on my watch.  Our sisters before us fought this war on women and won forty+ years ago.

Why are we fighting again, you might ask?  Look at all the states who have passed and/or are pushing legislation that restricts abortion or access to contraception.  States like Texas and Virginia, Arizona and Oklahoma.  Now, look at the specific legislators that authored these bills.  They have an (R) beside their name.  I see the face of the oppressor.  But even more clearly, I see where their hearts live.  Or, more appropriately, where their hearts don't live.  I've always been a lover; never a fighter.  I have a strong aversion to conflict; a pacifist and liberal in every sense of the word.  When tens of thousands of us stand up to say enough is enough, believe it to be fact.

An excitement is in the air in this country.  Can you feel it?  Be a part of the change you want to see in your country, and start in your little corner of the world.  Work hard everyday keeping your elected officials accountable to the needs of your community.  Stay in touch with them.  Watch them.  Keep them honest.  And tell them when they've screwed up; loudly and often.  It's the only way to roll as an American today.  In the immortal words of Todd Beamer who lost his life on 9/11 defending his fellow passengers against the terrorists hijackers, "Let's Roll"

PLS ~
